Free Sleep Apnea Screen
If you’re curious whether Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) may be affecting your sleep, you can complete a brief, evidence-based screening questionnaire here:
STOP-Bang Questionnaire:
http://www.stopbang.ca/osa/screening.php
The STOP-Bang tool is widely used in medical and surgical settings. A score of 3 or higher suggests increased risk for moderate-to-severe OSA and indicates that further medical evaluation may be appropriate.
Important: This questionnaire is a screening tool only. It does not replace a professional medical evaluation or diagnosis.
A Quick Note About Types of Sleep Apnea
There are two primary forms of sleep apnea:
Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA): Breathing is impaired due to physical airway obstruction during sleep.
Central Sleep Apnea (CSA): Breathing disruptions occur because the brain does not consistently send proper signals to the breathing muscles.
If you experience symptoms such as loud snoring, gasping during sleep, morning headaches, excessive daytime sleepiness, or unexplained fatigue, please consult your physician or a sleep specialist.
Why This Matters for Brain Health
Sleep apnea doesn’t just affect breathing — it affects the brain. Repeated drops in oxygen and sleep fragmentation can impact attention, mood regulation, memory, blood pressure, and long-term cognitive health.
Identifying and treating sleep apnea is one of the most powerful ways to protect both your brain and your overall well-being.
